We believe lessons should be student centred, with the emphasis on learning by engaging pupils with extension and enrichment of the curriculum. We are making increasing use of ICT, and in lessons use of computers and the interactive whiteboard is becoming routine. Pupils will be able to obtain one or two GCSEs in science depending on which curriculum pathway they follow.
Homework and Assessment
Homework is set regularly. At KS3 students should get approximately thirty minutes of homework of an hour per weeK. At KS4 students should get one hour per week, again with extra homework before exams. Students' progress is assessed in line with the school assessment calendar.
- Additional Science to be covered in Yr11, where pupils carryout 3 terminal written exams in Biology, Chemistry and Physics and an ISA.
Hamilton YouTube Channel
We believe that learning goes outside of the classroom and beyond the school day. In the Science Faculty you will find that there is a wide variety of Enrichment activities and Study Support opportunities to get involved in. These include revision and booster classes at KS3 and KS4.
